Hadi Pulai Win Will Pave The Way For Change In Government
Pas believes that a win for Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates in the Pulai parliamentary seat can pave the way for a change in the federal government.
(NST) – PN deputy chairman Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang said the coalition needed the additional parliamentary seat to secure a “people’s referendum” to signal a need for change.
“PN has a significant number of seats in Parliament. The government can change at any time.
“We need the extra seat (in Pulai) and a few others, so we have to be patient.
“We are also asking like-minded Umno members to have the courage to change. The government can change at any time, it can happen,” he said during a dialogue at the Pulai Pas headquarters here yesterday.
Present were Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) vice-president Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, Johor PN chairman Datuk Dr Sahruddin Jamal, Pas assistant secretary-general Mohd Syahir Che Sulaiman, who is also Bachok member of parliament, and PN’s candidate for Pulai, Zulkifli Jaafar.
On Aug 7, Hadi claimed that a win for PN in the six state elections would pave the way for a change in the federal government administration.
Following the 15th General Election, Pakatan Harapan (PH) held the most number of parliamentary seats with 82, followed by PN with 73, and BN with 30.
Hadi, who is also Pas president, said the momentum of the PN wave was being felt in the Pulai and Simpang Jeram by-elections, based on the response of the attendees during ceramah and campaign.
“We have seen very positive responses when we hold ceramah and door-to-door campaigns.
“Feedback from the voters has also been good, showing that the wave from GE15 hasn’t ended yet. It was also evident in the recent state elections.”
