(Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: A think tank has called on Putrajaya to be “more ambitious” in increasing the end-to-end or E2E online services across the public agencies under various ministries and the private sector.
E2E is aimed at easing the interactions between the public, industries and the government.
The Institute for Democracy and Economic Affairs (IDEAS) said that as of July, the current percentage of the federal government’s E2E stood at 57.02%.

Under the recently tabled 12th Malaysia Plan, the government is aiming to increase it to 80% by 2025.
“State governments also need to increase their E2E services,” its CEO Tricia Yeoh said in a statement.
Yeoh also said the government should focus on pushing for private-led growth alongside government-led growth, as well as more concerted efforts in promoting economic recovery under the 12MP.
She went on to say that while the think tank welcomed many aspects of the five-year plan, there were issues that needed to be addressed.
This included school dropouts among the Orang Asli due to poverty, misalignment of curriculum to their culture and environment, and access to basic infrastructure.
There is also a need to focus on rebuilding the incomes of the B40 and M40 and reskilling and upskilling programmes to future-proof the labour force with the economy shifting into recovery. - FMT
