Ge15 Hard To Break Ph Government If Is Assumes Power Warns Sanusi
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor warned voters that it will be difficult for Perikatan Nasional (PN) or Barisan Nasional (BN) to topple Pakatan Harapan (PH) should PH form a new government after the general election.
(NST) – Sanusi, who is also state PN chairman, said it would be difficult to ‘break up’ the PH government this time around as PN and BN are unable to cooperate, unlike in 2020 (through what is now known as the “Sheraton Move”).
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is a huge responsibility. This decision we will be making (on Nov 19) will be tied to the next five years.
“For the next five years, it would be unlikely that we could repeat what happened after GE14, when things went bad (in PH government) and we could break PH apart.
“Back then we could do that because PN and Barisan Nasional worked together but now BN doesn’t want to cooperate with anyone,” he said during a PN rally in Alor Star last night.
Sanusi said such cooperation was made impossible since BN demanded Pas to ditch Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) to form a political pact with BN.
Hence, Sanusi urged voters not to repeat the same mistake made during GE14 where voters were misled by PH’s unfulfilled promises.
He stressed that if PH were given the mandate to govern this time, nothing could stop PH from driving the country to ruins.
“If PH wins, we cannot do anything anymore. If they are the one driving the bus and they want to drive us down a ravine, we can’t stop them from doing so.
“We only have one chance, do not repeat the same mistake we did in GE14 because we were inspired by their politics of perception, the so-called inspiring words coming from the mouths of Rafizi Ramli and Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” he said.
In February 2020, the PH government collapsed just after 22 months in power when Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad stepped down following internal power struggle.
Bersatu, a component of PH, withdrew from the coalition, which saw the formation of PN government comprising of Bersatu, BN and Pas with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin appointed as prime minister.
Meanwhile, Sanusi also urged voters to support PN in order to teach Umno leaders a lesson, so that they would truly repent for their mistakes.
He said although Umno leaders seemed to have learned a lesson from their shocking defeat in the previous general election, but they immediately went back to their arrogant self after returning into power last year.
