From Dakwa To Dakwah Netizens Think The Police Nowadays Are Very Gentle Towards Protestors

EVERY government will face their fair share of protectors, and the Madani government is no different. Recently it was the protest towards Donald Trump’s visit to Malaysia and before that, the Turun Anwar rally at Dataran Merdeka.
Being a protestor isn’t easy either. Some governments aren’t very forgiving towards those who go against their rule and the result is tear gas, rubber bullets and a short term vacation in prison.
Towards this statement, a netizen decided to highlight a recent video where two protectors were gently reprimanded by a police officer.
@jllmisai in a wordplay said if it was Mahathir, instead of being “dakwah” by the police officer, the protestors will be “dakwa,” aka being sued.
Many others pointed out they were much softer towards protectors nowadays compared to the previous government. “They don’t get sued. Straight into ISA. In ISA, they get beaten up instead,” said @dinnotiz.
“The youngsters who didn’t feel life during Mahathir’s time, when they talk about the topic of freedom, I feel like I want to hit them in the head,” said @naimbinzaini.

Netizen @IsskndarAriffin added that the people would just go missing for a week or a month and even the family members have no idea what happened.

The picture comments are equally hard hitting:

On another note, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation chairman Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said the upcoming visit of United States President Donald J. Trump to Malaysia for the 47th ASEAN Summit later this month should not be seen as Malaysia softening its stance or compromising on the Palestinian cause.
According to him, the visit presents a valuable opportunity for Malaysia to use the ASEAN platform to convey its views directly and candidly to President Trump.
“Malaysia remains steadfast in ensuring the Palestinian struggle stays at the forefront of our foreign policy,” he said, emphasising that a firm and consistent position on the global stage reflects Malaysia’s unwavering commitment to justice.
Reezal, who also heads the Kepala Batas UMNO Division, reiterated that Malaysia firmly rejects all forms of oppression against Palestinians and continues to support their right to independence and statehood. — Focus Malaysia
