Free One Time Replacements For Faulty Rfid Tags Salahuddin Says

Free replacement Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags are available at Touch 'n Go (TNG) kiosks, says Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Salahuddin Ayub.
However, replacements for faulty tags can only be redeemed once, according to an infographic posted on his Facebook page.
This was among the matters discussed during a meeting between him and TNG representatives yesterday.
The RFID toll payment system has received many complaints of recurring problems during toll payment, including tag readers failing to detect RFID stickers on vehicles, causing congestion at the RFID toll lanes.
However, yesterday’s meeting was held after he called TNG to explain public complaints regarding the recently launched TNG Visa prepaid cards, which cannot be used in the same way as the older TNG cards to pay tolls and public transport fares.
In a Facebook post last night, Salahuddin said the TNG Visa cards had similar features to a debit card - targeted at users looking for an alternative to Visa debit cards or travelling overseas.
He clarified, however, that TNG Visa cannot be used as a regular TNG card due to limited technology in the chips used in the cards.
“If (the two cards are) combined, users will be charged twice for one transaction, in the TNG Visa card and TNG card,” he said.
Meanwhile, Salahuddin said that TNG e-wallets can be used on open-system highways such as the Maju Expressway (MEX) and Lebuhraya Damansara Puchong (LDP).

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Salahuddin AyubHowever, concession companies are still in the works of providing the relevant infrastructure to allow TNG e-wallets to be used at closed system highways such as the North-South Expressway (Plus) and Lebuhraya Pantai Timur (LPT2).
Following his meeting with TNG yesterday, Salahuddin told Malaysiakini that the latter was instructed to submit a scheduled report to the government for the examination and monitoring of the services it provides.
He added that some time has been given to the company to ensure the best service for its customers. - Mkini
