My Comments:
No. 1 The Lahad Datu Incursion
The story of that Lahad Datu incursion has not been fully told. The Army and Police personnel who were involved on the ground and who know what happened should step forward and tell the full story. May I suggest Patriots step up to the plate.
No . 2 The 'Flood Tourism" suggestion
I have an alternative suggestion. Why not we have an annual brain-surgery-medical-students-tourism?
The human brain has a few parts - about seven in this diagram.
We get that Flood Tourism fellow to "volunteer" to have one part of his brain opened up for surgery. Brain surgery medical students will be interested to come and observe. The following year they can open up another part of his brain for medical study. In seven years they can go through his entire brain. Then maybe repeat the cycle.
No. 3 Army Planting Vegetables
Brother Hishamuddin has never been to the market or supermarket to buy things for the kitchen. Vegetables are usually very low value items. Here is an old Mydin Deepavali price list.
The udang is almost RM30.00. Chicken is RM9.49. Bawal is RM20.00.
The vegetables like bendi is only RM5.99.
The kentang is just RM0.99. Pisang is RM5.00
In the food shopping cart, vegetables are comparatively lower value items.
If the Army plants kangkung, bendi, tomato etc you have almost zero cost-effectiveness.
The Army uses Land Rovers, Toyota Pick Ups and Military trucks. The moment you use these expensive equipment to grow vegetables the cost effectiveness goes out the window.
Even the lowest grade Army Private is paid over RM1100. The sargeants and lieutenants are paid more than RM2000 already. So you are going to have some highly paid vegetable farmers.
There is no cost effectiveness. Your cost to grow i kilo of kangkung at the Army Camps will be far greater than the value of that 1 kilo of kangkung at the market.
Do drop the idea. It is not a good idea.
