Fans Stand In Solidarity With Convert Tiktoker Rayyan Wong After Cops Nab Him For 3r Breaches

ALL it takes is one police report for the long arm of the law to catch up with ‘young ustaz’ Rayyan Wong who daringly reprimanded (menegur) the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Johor Regent and Prime Minister for their asam pedas feast in what he deemed as a non-halal establishment.
Although his minute-long TikTok clip which already amassed 2.1 million views was eventually “taken private” while he extended an apology to the powerful trio for assuming that the eatery did not possess halal certification when it actually did, the proverbial “rice has turned into a porridge” holds true.

Yesterday (Dec 18), the 22-year-old accounting graduate from Tunku Abdul Rahman University was arrested by the police to assist in their investigation into a social media content that was deemed offensive to the Agong, Johor Regent and PMX that was uploaded on his TikTok account.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the arrest was made following a report made by an officer of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) regarding the uploaded content.
“Yesterday at 4.30pm, the complainant saw a statement uploaded by the owner of the account @ryanwong_5845 on the TikTok application,” Harian Metro cited him as saying.
“The content in question issued a hateful statement believed to be with the intention of hurting, disparaging and insulting the Royal Institution to incite hatred and provocation against the Royal Institution which has the potential to disrupt public security and national harmony.”
According to Razarudin, the police also seized a Galaxy Z Flip 5 smartphone while the case is being investigated under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948 and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
“The investigation is still on-going and developments in the case will be reported from time to time,” added the country’s top cop.
Interestingly, opposition-slant netizens are seemingly backing the action of Johor Bahru-born Rayyan who is also the recipient of this year’s PAS Youth Chief Award as could be gauged from a Facebook post by pro-Perikatan Nasional (PN) blogger Ratu Naga a.k.a. Syarul Ema Rena Abu Samah.

For one, he was applauded for his heroics with many commenters praying for his safety and well-being while one netizen even mooted the idea of a fundraising to appoint a legal counsel for the much-touted mini version’ of controversial convert preacher Firdaus Wong Wai Hung (unrelated although both share the same surname).




Whether this would serve as a costly lesson to Rayyan or otherwise, a netizen who used to follow him when “he had only one or two hundred followers on TikTok” recalled how she decided to unfollow the account given “his pick-me attitude among Malay Muslims became more apparent” as his follower base grew.
“His views started becoming more extreme, so I decided to unfollow him,” admitted straight talker MIMI ASMARA (@WVGIF).

“Rayyan Wong, as a freshly minted revert, desperately needs guidance if he wants to be a respectable content creator. Maybe he should take notes from other revert brothers instead of trying to pick fights with royals and politicians – because let’s be honest, he’s NOT going to win.”
