© Provided by New Straits Times It was reported yesterday that unhappy over his factory’s decision to terminate his employment, the man rammed his Honda Civic into his former workplace in Chemor at 6.45pm. -NSTPIPOH: The family of a man who deliberately rammed his car into his former workplace and was later killed when he was run over by a lorry plans to take legal action against the management of the factory.
This follows the emergence of a video recording in which the deceased, K. Kathirsean, had lamented about being victimised by his bosses.
The 52-year old can be seen voicing his frustration about being accused of non-performance, resulting in him not getting bonuses or a salary increment.
In the 14-minute, 15-second video clip, the former project manager can also be seen distraught and teary eyed. He repeatedly mentions being stressed and depressed over what had happened to him at his workplace while also naming those who had allegedly conspired against him.
Kathirsean's brother-in-law, S. Kesavan, said the family was planning to initiate legal action against the factory management following the emergence of the video clip.
He said his brother-in-law had been working at the company for seven years and never once complained about having problems at his workplace.
"We only knew that his services were terminated after reading some comments on the video clip which has now gone viral on social media.
"Previously, we knew that he had been suspended from work since September but he never mentioned his actual problems to us.
"However, we now have a clear picture of the problems he was going through. He had to undergo treatment at the private hospital here as he was too stressed after being suspended from work without valid reasons," he said when contacted today.
Kesavan described his brother-in-law as a hardworking and committed person in carrying out his duties as a husband and a worker.
"He must have really been depressed when he rammed his car into the factory building," he said, adding that it would be a bleak Deepavali for the family this year.

He then alighted from his vehicle and threw a bottle of petrol at the Human Resources Department. However, an hour later police received a report that the man was killed when he was hit by a trailer lorry along Jalan Kuala Kangsar here.
Meanwhile, district police chief Assistant Commissioner A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said statements from several people whose names were mentioned in the video clip had been taken to complete the investigation.
"We need to get their statements to clarify the facts. We are investigating this case from all angles," he said.
He also confirmed that Kathirsean had lodged two police reports against the factory management.
Asmadi said, based on the earlier reports lodged by the deceased, the case was classified as dispute between an employee and the factory management.
Such cases, he said, should be referred to the Employment Claims Tribunals and Human Resources Ministry. - NST
