Ex Tambun Farmer S Organisation Gm Pleads Not Guilty To Corruption Charge

The accused, Wan Khairul Faizee Wan Zulkifli, however, pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him before Judge Datuk Ibrahim Osman.
According to the charge sheet, the father of five was accused of using his position to receive the bribe by approving a voucher to WIA Management and Services, a company owned by his wife, Ruzlin Hafinaz Redzuan, for the procurement of a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 valued at RM7,400.
The offence was allegedly committed at his office here on Nov 16, 2020.
He was charged under Section 23(1) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009, which is punishable under Section 24 of the same act.
This section provides for a maximum prison sentence of 20 years or a fine of not less than five times the amount or value of the bribe, or RM10,000, whichever is higher.
MACC prosecuting officer Mohamad Pahmi Ahmad prosecuted, while the accused was represented by lawyer, Raja Mohd Iskandar Zulkharnian Raja Abdul Malek.
Mohamad Pahmi proposed RM15,000 bail with one surety, including the condition that the accused must report to the MACC office here once a month.
Raja Mohd Iskandar informed the court that his client earns about RM4,500 per month and supports five children aged between six and 11 years old. He requested a minimum bail for Wan Khairul Faizee and proposed RM10,000 with one surety.
The judge then set bail at RM10,000 with one surety and ordered the accused to report to the MACC headquarters here once a month until the case concludes.
