Emco On Sibu Jaya Flats In Sarawak Ends Tomorrow Ismail Sabri

The government has decided to end the enhanced movement control order (MCO) on Blocks C, H, J, K, L, N and R of Sibu Jaya Flats in Sibu, Sarawak, as scheduled tomorrow.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Ismail Sabri Yaakob said this decision was taken based on the risk analysis jointly conducted by several agencies under the MCO technical committee and also on the advice of the Health Ministry.
“So far, the Health Ministry has conducted 6,875 screening tests and of this number, a cumulative total of 390 (Covid-19) cases have been reported.
“It confirmed that the remaining active cases in this locality are showing a downward trend, under control and that there are no test samples awaiting results,” he said in a statement today.
He also said 451 individuals were arrested yesterday for violating the standard operating procedures to curb Covid-19, with 393 compounded and 58 remanded.
The offences included failure to provide equipment for recording customers’ particulars (129), involvement in entertainment centre activities (82), no physical distancing (79), prostitution (75), crossing district/state borders without permission (28), not wearing a face mask (49) and operating premises beyond permissible hours/without permission (nine).
Ismail added that 24 undocumented migrants were arrested and six land vehicles seized in Operasi Benteng yesterday.
"During the operation, authorities also detected 103 boats/ships in the country’s waters through seven sighting activities. Apart from that, five undocumented migrants were chased away.”
On the compulsory screening of foreign workers yesterday, he said 5,036 took the swab tests and 88 were found positive of Covid-19.
"According to the Human Resource Ministry, on a cumulative basis 598,790 foreign workers hired by 31,275 employers have been tested, and of this number, 9,500 were found positive and 589,290 negative,” he added.
Ismail said 788 individuals entered the country yesterday and all have been quarantined at various quarantine stations nationwide, bringing to 141,077 the total number of people who have returned since July 24, 2020.
Of this number, 7,300 were quarantined and 132,776 allowed to return home while 1,001 were taken to hospital.
