Emco At Three Areas In Sabah And One In Kelantan
The EMCO will run from June 21 to July 4.PETALING JAYA: Three localities in Sabah and one in Kelantan will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from June 21 to July 4, senior minister for security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said today.
In Sabah, the EMCO will affect Kampung Nelayan in Sandakan, Kampung Rancangan Silabukan Peringkat 4 in Lahad Datu and Phase 1 and 2 of Taman Digot in Penampang.
Ismail said 19 out of 29 tests conducted at Kampung Nelayan returned positive while eight out of 40 tests at Kampung Rancangan Silabukan Peringkat 4 returned positive.
He added that eight positive cases were reported at Phase 1 and 2 of Taman Digot.
In Kelantan, residents at Taman Merbau Utama, Mukim Bukit Jawa, Selising in Pasir Puteh will also face the total lockdown from Monday after 41 positive cases were reported.
Ismail also announced the extension of the EMCO in several Sarawak localities.
The EMCO at four longhouses scheduled to end tomorrow will be extended until July 4.
They are Rumah Panjang Bala anak Umba, Rumah Panjang Tulu anak Sli, Rumah Panjang Tulu anak Entingi and Rumah Panjang Balik anak Gema.
Ismail added that the EMCO at SK St Luke and Klinik Kesihatan Nanga Baoh in Sarawak will also be extended until July 4.
Meanwhile, the EMCO at several other areas will be lifted at 11.59pm tomorrow.
This includes Felda Umas 4, Kalabakan in Sabah and Kampung Gunung Senyum, Kuala Krau, Temerloh in Pahang.
Ismail also said 718 people were arrested for MCO-related offences yesterday, with 663 issued compound fines, 49 remanded and six granted bail.
The offences include failure to register personal details prior to entering premises (148), failure to wear face masks (132), crossing state or district lines without permission (122), failing to observe physical distancing (103), flouting movement control rules (78), going beyond the car passenger limit (52), premises flouting SOPs (12), participating in activities at entertainment outlets (2) and others (68).
The authorities also detained 58 undocumented migrants yesterday as part of the ongoing Op Benteng. Three vehicles and three boats were also seized. - FMT
