Embracing Happiness And Mental Well Being At Pasar Besties Bazaar
Embracing Happiness and Mental Well-being at PASAR BESTIES Bazaar | Hello beautiful people. How are you? Hope all is well and you are in the best possible condition with family and friends. How's your mental well-being? You wanna heal and be rejuvenized?
In a world where mental health is often overlooked and stigmatized, The Butterfly Project is taking a bold step to promote mental well-being through their upcoming PASAR BESTIES Bazaar.
Scheduled for 18-19 May 2024 at The School by Jaya One, this event aims to foster conversations, raise awareness, and provide a safe platform for addressing mental health. With over 30 vendors selling pre-loved and handmade items, 13 participating brands, and 6 complimentary workshops, the bazaar promises to be an enriching experience for all attendees.
The founder of The Butterfly Project, Tammy Lim, believes in the power of community and the importance of reaching out for support.
She emphasizes the theme of the event, "It’s okay not to be okay. The first step is to step out of your comfort zone and embrace happiness."
This sentiment encapsulates the heart of the bazaar – creating a space where individuals can connect, make new friends, and practice self-care. Tammy's vision for the event goes beyond just fun and shopping; it's about empowering individuals to prioritize their mental well-being and providing a platform for vendors to become entrepreneurs.
The bazaar also aligns with the World Health Organization's recognition of burnout as an occupational and work-related disease, highlighting the significance of addressing mental health in various settings, including the workplace. The event seeks to challenge cultural norms and stigma surrounding mental health, encouraging open discussions and promoting the first step towards better well-being.
The importance of mental health cannot be overstated. The National Health and Morbidity Survey in 2019 reported that half a million Malaysians were experiencing symptoms of depression, with the highest prevalence found in certain regions. Additionally, the survey in 2022 revealed an alarming increase in depression among adolescents. These statistics underscore the urgency of addressing mental health issues and the need for events like PASAR BESTIES Bazaar to raise awareness and provide support.
The bazaar offers a diverse range of workshops, from honey tasting to self-care and essential oils, providing attendees with opportunities to learn, relax, and engage in meaningful conversations. It's a chance to destress, connect with others, and gain valuable insights into prioritizing mental well-being.
