Elmina Crash All Ten Victims Identified Says Selangor Police Chief

KLANG: All ten victims of the Elmina air crash have been identified, says Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.
"We have identified all 10 of them. One victim's body was released yesterday and the remaining nine will be released to their respective families today," he told a press conference at the Hospital Tengku Ampang Rahimah's mortuary on Sunday (Aug 20).
He said that all victims were identified through various pathology techniques; by matching fingerprints, DNA and dental records.
"I can confirm there are no more victims to be identified," said Comm Hussein.

Comm Hussein said police have also recorded the statements of several dashcam owners in the course of their investigation.
"The investigation is ongoing and we will see if there is a need to call more individuals to assist the investigation," he added.
On Saturday night, Comm Hussein had said the remains of the remaining nine victims could be handed over to their families on Sunday following the conclusion of the identification process and the post-mortem.
The remains will be released to the families in stages starting from 9am.

2. Datuk Seri Johar Harun, 53.
3. Muhammad Taufik Mohd Zaki, 37.
4. Khairil AzwanJamaludin,43
5. Sharipudin Shaari,51.
6. Shaharul Amir Omar,49.
7. Mohammad Naim Fawwas Mohamed Muaidi,35.
8. Idris Abdul Talib @ Ramali,41.
9. Shahrul Kamal Roslan,41.
10. Heikal Aras Abdul Azim,45.
On Thursday (Aug 17) 10 people, including eight people on board a light aircraft were killed after the plane crashed near the Elmina Township in Selangor.
An e-hailing driver and a food delivery rider on the road were killed when the plane crashed.
The incident occurred at about 2.40pm after the aircraft, which took off from Langkawi, was cleared to land at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.
It crashed into Persiaran Elmina after losing communication with the control tower. - Star
