Don T Forget Why Pkr Was Formed Tian Chua Tells Members
PKR vice-president Tian Chua has reminded party members that the reason the party was set up in the late 1990s was to remove gutter politics after Anwar Ibrahim was accused of sodomy.
(FMT) – “That is exactly why the PKR movement started. It was to remove gutter politics. We defended Anwar,” he said.
He was commenting on the gay sex videos, in which PKR deputy president Mohamed Azmin Ali is alleged to be involved, which have now made their way into pornographic video sites as well as YouTube.
Tian Chua said the party seemed to be going back to gutter politics instead of pointing out issues maturely.
“If there is anyone who doesn’t like Azmin, then fight him on policies, his work in the ministry (economic affairs) and his work as the previous Selangor menteri besar.
“Why go back to gutter politics?
“That is why (I say) it is part of a conspiracy against Azmin,” he told FMT.
Santubong PKR Youth chief Haziq Aziz said he is one of the men in the videos and claimed Azmin is the other.
Azmin has denied the claim, describing it as a nefarious plot to assassinate his reputation and character and an attempt to destroy his political career.
Tian Chua, the former Batu MP, said politics in Malaysia must rise beyond gutter politics, and reminded PKR members that this was not the “new Malaysia” the people had voted for in the general election.
Earlier, FMT was alerted that at least three video clips had been posted on pornhub.com bearing “Azmin Ali” in their titles.
