Don T Come Back Remark To Outstation Voters Just A Joke Wan Rosdy

PELANGAI BY-ELECTION | Umno vice-president Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail has clarified that he was only joking when he urged outstation voters not to return to cast their ballots if they had no intention to choose BN.
This came after the Pahang menteri besar told BN supporters in Felda Chemomoi, Bentong to advise their children living elsewhere not to come back for polling day if they’re going to be a “nuisance” by voting for a different candidate.
He said they should instead leave it to those who live in Pelangai to determine their next assemblyperson.
"Our children who live out of state, if they are not with us, then you should just ask them to stay (where they are).
"Just stay in Kolumpo (Kuala Lumpur). Mengacau je (you’re being a nuisance). Let us handle our own yard," he said in his speech before a crowd of some 300 people last night.
Wan Rosdy (above) was speaking at a 'Sembang Santai' programme to campaign for BN candidate Amizar Abu Adam, who is running for the Pelangai state seat.

"I was only kidding. What I meant was that we are hoping the outstation voters will come back and support us.
"The part where I said they should not come back if they do not support us was only a joke. Because some of the audience were sleepy, I wanted to wake them up.
"Don't take it too seriously," Wan Rosdy said.
‘Pahang more Islamic than PAS states’
Earlier in his speech, Wan Rosdy also took a swipe at PAS for insinuating in its campaigns that Pahang is going to be a secular state.
Instead, the menteri besar claimed Pahang was even more Islamic than PAS-led states.
This was evident from achievements and initiatives by the state government, including having an Islamic university and 24 tahfiz schools in the state, he pointed out.
Wan Rosdy said they also send students to Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt for Islamic studies.
Pahang had also enacted an anti-apostasy law, he added.
"So which part (about Pahang) is unIslamic? I think Pahang is even more Islam than states that are under their (PAS) control". - Mkini
