Don T Burn The Bridge After You Have Crossed Over
Say whatever you like - aren't we burning the bridge now, by calling on Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad to step down, after he had dethroned Najib Abdul Razak
Like it or not, it is a historic feat for Mahathir and Pakatan Harapan to oust Najib and his BN government in the 2018 general election, which, as a result, put an end to Najib's era
Yes! We all know how difficult it is to topple Najib, especially when there is nobody except Mahathir who dares to fight it out in the general election
Mahathir tried to get Najib to step down gracefully but the latter said he was voted by the people into power in a democratic process and that he will stay on unless voted out by the people
This made it difficult for Mahathir who had to look for other methods to remove Najib from office. But all was in vain. Mahathir knew that there was only one way to go about it. And that was to fight it out in the 14th.general election
The question is, why are there some quarters calling on Mahathir to step down when he, too, was elected and put into office through a democratic process
By right, Mahathir should be given time to clean up the mess left behind by Najib’s government
With more than RM1 trillion in debts, the new government really has a tough task to see how quickly the debts could be settled
So, let’s join hands to help make it easier for the Harapan government to get Malaysia out of the financial morass and ease the people's hardship. - Mkini
