Honda Malaysia (or the Company) last week officially launched the 11th Generation All-New Civic to Malaysians. This highly-anticipated model is expected to make waves in the market and maintain No. 1 position in the C-segment with its stylish exterior design, premium interior offerings and best-in-class performance.

Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Madoka Chujo said,
“In developing the 11th Generation All-New Civic, Honda’s R&D team has put in a lot of thought and effort in designing the exterior, interior and overall package of the car. This model is a modern interpretation of the classic and timeless human-centred Honda values, with a new design concept that exudes a New Age Identity sedan. Packed to the brim with advanced features while keeping true to the Civic DNA styling, handling and powerful performance - The 11th Generation All-New Civic is truly built and powered by Passion, inspired by a strong Legacy and built for the Future.”

The Company is introducing the sporty RS variant into the Civic line-up for the first time, enhancing the All-New Civic’s signature sporty and bold looks with RS exclusive exterior features such as Black Painted; Side Mirrors, Shark Fin Antenna, Outer Door Handles and Trunk Spoiler. Meanwhile, the Twin Tailpipe with Chrome Finisher and 18-inch Matte Black Alloy Wheels furnished gives a sporty appearance for the car. The All-New Civic also features newly designed LED Headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) while the New Rear LED Combi Lights clearly reflects Civic’s DNA and emphasizes the identity of Honda. The All-New Civic receives a Laser Brazing technology for the first time, giving it a smooth and clean roofline which resulted the car looking sleeker.

Ms. Chujo added, “In 2016, Honda was the first Japanese mass manufacturer to introduce the VTEC Turbocharged engine in the 10th Generation Civic. The acceptance of Honda’s Turbocharged engine in the market was overwhelming, and since then, 60% of the Civic sales were contributed by the Turbocharged variants. Today, we are pleased to offer Malaysians an enhanced VTEC Turbocharged engine in the 11th Generation All-New Civic that will further uplift the C-Segment in terms of performance as well as excite our customers with a thrilling driving experience.”



The 11th Generation All-New Civic is offered in three variants – E, V and the sporty RS variant. The enhanced 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine comes standard in all variants. Offering customers a thrilling ride, engine performance have been raised to a maximum power output of 182PS and segment-leading 240Nm of torque, which is more powerful than a 2.4L engine performance. The All-New Civic is now offered with a new drive mode option; ECON, Normal and Sport Mode which can be switched easily with Drive Mode Switch. The Sport Mode provides powerful torque sensation and high acceleration responsiveness which reflects on the performance driven DNA of a Civic.



Honda has elevated the interior of the All-New Civic by offering customers a refreshing interior design concept. Its focus is on exceptional visibility with an open feeling of spaciousness, achieved through an expanded glass area. A key highlight of its sophisticated interior space is the Honeycomb Mesh Panel that exudes a premium feel and touch to the overall dashboard layout. The All-New Civic features a new and improved seat design that supports good posture when driving. The RS variant comes with a Combi Leather[1] Seats with Red Stitching in addition to Red Stitching Leather[1] Steering Wheel, Black Headlining, Sport Pedal and Foot Lamp. The RS and V variants are equipped with 9-inch Advanced Display Audio with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™[2] Connectivity and 2 Front USB ports. Meanwhile, the 7-inch Interactive Thin Film Transistor (TFT) Meter, 2 Rear USB ports and Smart Clear Wiper are some standard features in the All-New Civic. The Smart Clear Wiper is a unique feature that is being introduced in a Honda Malaysia’s model line-up for the first time.



The chassis of the All-New Civic has been thoroughly refined to offer better handling and ride comfort. Body rigidity of the 11th Generation All-New Civic has been enhanced compared to current Civic, with an 8% increase of torsional rigidity and 13% increase of bending rigidity. This enables the model to realise high-rigidity frame for collision safety and improved handling. Besides that, to enhance quietness and ride comfort, Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) has been improved vastly with the application of insulators, floor undercover and spray foam application in the chassis areas.

The All-New Civic comes equipped with a full set of advanced safety technologies that are intuitive and intelligent. The enhanced Honda SENSING also now comes with a new feature - Lead Car Departure Notification System, first equipped in Honda Malaysia’s model line-up. During idle times such as when waiting at a traffic light, the system will alert driver about the departure of the preceding car.

Equipped with the full suite of enhanced Honda SENSING safety features, the All-New Civic is a model with the most complete set of safety features in the C-segment. The safety features in the All-New Civic’s Honda SENSING are as below:

The Honda SENSING feature in the All-New Civic has been enhanced with improved functionality to offer a more natural system intervention. The All-New Civic receives improved function of Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow (LSF), which slowly decelerates by detecting the brake and indicator lamp of a vehicle ahead and slowly accelerates by controlling acceleration linked with driver operation. Another function improvement in the Honda SENSING is Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) which enables a natural and smooth steering operation during turn-in and out as well as corrective steering assist in environment such as cross winds and wind pressure beside bigger vehicles.



Other safety features included in the All-New Civic are Honda LaneWatch[3], Six Airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Auto Brake Hold (ABH). Two new safety features for the All-New Civic are the Rear Seat Belt Reminder and Driver Attention Monitor. Meanwhile other advanced features are Walk Away Auto Lock and Remote Engine Start comes standard across all variants.

The All-New Civic is the third Honda Malaysia model to feature Honda’s latest innovative and advanced Honda CONNECT[3] technology. Applying smart Telematics Technology, Honda CONNECT embodies Honda’s vision of value creation for mobility and improvement of daily lives with an intelligent information platform that provides multiple benefits of Safety, Security and Convenience. The All-New Civic owners will be able to enjoy the Telematics system for the first time, which allows users to connect with their cars with a touch of their fingertips via a smartphone application. Key functions of the Telematics technology in Honda CONNECT include Vehicle Diagnostics, Remote Applications, Security Applications, Vehicle Tracking and Support Services, which are all targeted to provide peace of mind and ease accessibility to the vehicle’s information. Additionally, it is fun to use and brings out the pride and Joy of owning a Honda car.

The price for the E variant is RM125,634.64 [4], while the V variant is priced at RM138,043.36 [4]. Honda customers can own the RS variant at the price of RM144,350.09 [4]. With the launch of this exciting new model, Honda Malaysia targets to sell 900 units per month. Ignite Red Metallic and Meteoroid Gray Metallic are the two new vibrant colours offered in the All-New Civic. Other colour options are Platinum White Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic and Crystal Black Pearl.
