Deputy Health Minister Rubbishes Claims He Has Gone Awol Amidst Covid Surge

The Bagan Serai Member of Parliament urged the people to check his official Facebook account (YB Dato Dr Haji Noor Azmi) to see his daily activities, before making allegations.
"I'm not missing, maybe I am not on television. If people are always watching television, they can't see me.
"It would be great if the people check social media platforms as well. For instance, I am very active on Facebook.
"We are always there (at the Health Ministry Office). Not everyone will be seen on television. If people ask me again, where is the Deputy Health Minister, I would like to suggest they check my Facebook page.
"My every move is on my Facebook page, whether I am at the ministry or in my area," he added.
He told this to the New Straits Times when met after handing over assistance to 13 taxi drivers in front of his office here, today.
He was commenting on netizens who have inquired into his whereabouts, along with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba, and Deputy Health Minister II Aaron Ago Dagang.
Some netizens claim the trio has "gone missing" amidst a surge in daily Covid-19 cases in the country.
"We, at the Health Ministry, always discuss at our daily morning meetings how to deal with Covid-19 cases as we know the people feel uneasy.
"During the meetings, the Health Minister, director-general, Deputy Health Ministers, and senior officers of related agencies discuss thoroughly all issues before making any decision on how to deal with Covid-19 cases," he added.
On Jan 7, Malaysia reported a new record of 3,027 daily Covid-19 infections, with the country recording the highest death toll of 16 yesterday. - NST
