Denying He Is A Broker Bukit Gantang Mp Now Says 16 From Bersatu Will Support Anwar
At least 16 Bersatu Members of Parliament will express their support for the Prime Minister by Feb 28, claims Bukit Gantang MP Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal.
(MSN News) – “Previously, I told you that there will be more than 10, now the total had increased to 16.
“So, let us wait and see if more MPs will declare support for (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim),” he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian after a Jualan Rahmah programme in Changkat Jering, Perak, on Wednesday (Feb 7).
Last month, Tanjong Karang MP Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi became the sixth Bersatu MP to declare support for Anwar.
The others were Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz, Zahari Kechik (Jeli), Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid (Kuala Kangsar), Suhaili Abdul Rahman (Labuan) and Mohd Azizi Abu Naim (Gua Musang).
Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz also denied that he had brokered “deals” for the other MPs to support the government, as alleged by certain parties.
“I am not a ‘broker’. I am telling the truth and I (did not reach out to) any of them.
“What I can tell you is that the Opposition is doing something meaningless… it is impossible if there are (government) MPs who want to join the Opposition.
“They cannot even take care of (those who are with them) properly,” he added.
Asked about the possible action to be taken by Bersatu against him, he said he was prepared to face the consequences.
“If they want to take legal action, I will accept it and we will fight in court.
“But what they are planning to do will be meaningless as there is nothing in the party constitution that states action can be taken… as long as the party constitution is not amended (this cannot happen).
“My friends and I only support the government but we have not left the party,” he stressed.
