Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will start to display the national flag at their buildings. The private and public sector will also fly the national flag. Kuala Lumpur residents are encouraged to do the same at their houses
Deputy Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Santhara Kumar urged Malaysians to stay united to fight the Covid-19 pandemic
“This year’s theme is ‘Malaysia Prihatin’ which is in line with the aspirations adopted by the government
“We see the caring spirit of fellow Malaysians not only through frontliners but also through the people who helped those who were affected by the pandemic
“It has been 140 days since the movement control order (MCO) began in March and even though the recovery MCO is expected to end on Aug 31, the ministry will continue to ensure that the spread of the virus is under control in the city,” he said at the launch of the Kibar Jalur Gemilang campaign at Dataran Merdeka, Jalan Raja, here
Also present during the launch were Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan and Federal Territories Ministry secretary-general Datuk Rosida Jaafar
A total of 33,000 flags will be used to decorate the city. DBKL will also display the Jalur Gemilang using LED bunting at Menara DBKL 1 and Dataran Merdeka.- Star
