Dap Mp It S Raining Frogs In The Land Below The Wind
A DAP lawmaker took to Twitter to post a sarcastic swipe at the exodus of Sabah Umno lawmakers who are speculated to join Bersatu
“It's raining frogs in the land below the wind,” said Lim Lip Eng this evening
Speaking to Malaysiakini, the Kepong MP said it has always been DAP's stand to oppose party-hopping when the other side has the political advantage
“Now that DAP is part of the government, we cannot change our principle,” he stressed
Lim also noted that he had raised the issue of enacting an anti-party hopping law during the just-ended Dewan Rakyat session
“The answer given was that it is (the elected representatives) right (to switch parties). This is totally wrong,” he said
Lim also pointed out that “cocky and arrogant” DAP members who had quit the party in the past and contested as independents in previous elections had lost their deposits
He said DAP's top leaders would discuss with their Pakatan Harapan counterparts regarding the issue of party-hopping
“I have confidence in them (the DAP leadership),” he said
Lim Lip EngLast week, Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad said the government would not pursue or enact anti-party-hopping legislation
"We are a democratic government, we believe in democracy and democracy allows even 'frogs' to jump,” he said
