Dap Family Conspiracy Claim Pas Mp Continues To Keep Mum

PAS MP Siti Mastura Muhammad has once again evaded the media today after coming under fire for claiming family ties between Bagan MP Lim Guan Eng and prominent figures of Chinese ethnicity, including a communist leader.
The Kepala Batas lawmaker alleged that Lim was related to former Communist Party of Malaya (CPM) leader Ong Boon Hua, better known as Chin Peng, and Singapore’s first prime minister Lee Kuan Yew.
The clock is ticking for Siti Mastura as she has 24 hours left to respond to Lim’s demand for evidence of her “DAP family conspiracy” claims.
However, when approached by the press at Parliament today, Siti Mastura chose to keep mum on the matter.
The PAS parliamentarian dodged a barrage of questions from the media seeking a response from her and if she would issue an apology to Lim for her claims as the deadline looms.
Accompanied by an individual believed to be her aide, she continued to take huge strides, walking away from reporters.
“Don’t disturb her, she has her own duties,” her aide said.
Yesterday, Lim said Siti Mastura has until tomorrow (Nov 9) to furnish evidence in relation to her allegation which was made during a recent PAS programme in Terengganu.
Siti Mastura made the claim in her 46-minute speech to PAS’ Women and young women wings members from Kemaman PAS, ahead of the upcoming Kemaman parliamentary by-election.
Aside from alleging family relations with Ong and Lee, Siti Mastura also claimed that Lim is related to other DAP leaders such as secretary-general Anthony Loke, Nga Kor Ming, Ngeh Koo Ham and Teresa Kok.
Bagan MP Lim Guan EngLim said he would take further action should Siti Mastura fail to prove her claims.
Siti Mastura had also attempted to evade reporters waiting outside the MP’s lounge yesterday.
When pressed if she would respond to Lim's demand for evidence, she said, “I don’t need to answer a question that does not know the facts.”
Stopping misinformation
Meanwhile, Deputy Communications and Digital Minister Teo Nie Ching has proposed for the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) to organise an engagement session with all MPs, including Siti Mastura, on the spread of fake news.
This, Teo said in the Dewan Rakyat today, is to increase media literacy and halt the spread of misinformation.

“Remember the tagline, don’t share if you’re not sure. Be a responsible MP and a responsible netizen,” she said.
