Crowd Enjoys Madani Hari Raya Celebration With Pm In Ayer Keroh

MELAKA: The Madani Hari Raya Aidilfitri programme with the Prime Minister at Ayer Keroh here witnessed a diverse and enthusiastic crowd in a true reflection of Malaysia’s multicultural harmony.
The vibrant celebration, rich in festive colour and unity, attracted not only locals but also guests from neighbouring states including Johor, Negri Sembilan and Selangor.
Observations revealed that attendees began arriving at the Melaka International Trade Centre (MITC) in Ayer Keroh, as early as 9am on Saturday (April 5).
The event provided the public with the unique opportunity to meet and engage with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Many took the occasion to snap photographs and selfies with him, adding a personal touch to the joyous gathering.
Several visitors interviewed expressed that they had come with their families while noting that the event fostered a strong sense of unity among Malaysia’s various ethnic groups.
One of the guest, Apen Anak Siangsin, 53, from the Orang Asli community, said he came with his family to enliven the spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
“This year I chose to celebrate Raya at MITC to experience the festive atmosphere alongside the Prime Minister and fellow Malaysians.
“At this open house, I had the chance to enjoy a wide array of delicious dishes from different states," he said.
Muhammad Muhsin Hamdan, 35, from Tanjung Minyak, here praised the open house for strengthening inter-ethnic unity.
“What matters most is that people of all races are coming together – it shows that unity in Malaysia remains strong,” he said.
For Bernice Lim Hui Lian the celebration was an opportunity to foster closer ties among different communities.
“Yes, we were able to mix and mingle with Malay and Indian guests during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration,” said the 41-year-old from Cheng here.
Meanwhile, R. Punita, 40, from Jasin expressed pride in being Malaysian, particularly during multicultural festivities such as this.
“I’m truly proud to be a Malaysian, where people of all races can celebrate one another’s festivals in a spirit of unity,” she said.
The event featured a sumptuous spread of unique and enticing dishes representing every state in Malaysia, including specialities from Sabah and Sarawak.
The festive spirit was further elevated by performances from renowned local and national artistes, making the celebration a truly memorable one. - Star
