Covid 19 When Politics Take Leave
I MUST commend the government for all actions taken to control and contain the Covid-19 pandemic, with PM Muhyiddin Yassin keeps making daily statement to remind the public how serious the problem is.
My salute goes out to those putting endless effort to fight the disease - doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, police, army and other related sectors. Hats off to them!
Although there were hiccups when PM made the announcement on Tuesday that restricted movement and other controlling steps had to be taken, that ICP had to make a 'U-turn' decision on it, basically Malaysians are beginning to heed it.
We are now aware of the gravity of the problem. In many other countries, even curfew had to take effect.
Malaysians are fortunate to have a benevolent government and a good healthcare network. After the two deaths on Tuesday that prompted the government to clamp us with such actions, the people are coming together with the government by checking on daily updates on Covid-19.
Of course there are people who defy the order but I believe some have to 'for survival'. The enforcement, however, are always there to advise them and give friendly warning or reminder for them not to repeat it.
And this time around, politics is taking a leave. No politicising by any party, nobody to take advantage of the situation for self-interest and no one must emerge as bad critics to the government effort.
However, there were instances where one or two politicians made adverse remarks of the situation but in the end received a good troll by netizens on the internet.
Yes, this is a time when politics should take leave. Just let the authority do their job, obey whatever instruction to cut off the pandemic link. Helping the government will mean helping yourself. Just imagine if the 2-week lockdown is extended for another month or two because it will spell disaster for all sectors, notably the economy.
Stay home... its time to amend the lost time with our family!
