Covid 19 Parents Can Book Vaccination Appointment For Kids On Mysejahtera Soon
Parents in the Klang Valley who want to enrol their children in the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Kids (PICKids) can soon book vaccination appointments through their MySejahtera application.
According to Deputy Health Minister Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali, the Health Ministry will provide a new appointment booking system through the application soon, aimed at aiding parents in managing immunisation for their children.
"Through this application, parents and guardians can pick the location and time comfortable for them and their children.
"Thus, MOH invites all parents and guardians of children aged between 5 and 11 in the Klang Valley to start booking appointments for the kids," he told a press conference earlier today.
The programme would be widened to cover other states outside the Klang Valley soon, he added.
Based on Azmi's explanation, parents can access the booking system by downloading the latest updates for MySejahtera and register the kids under their care as dependents in the application.
As soon as this is done, the deputy minister said, parents who live in the Klang Valley will receive a link for them to make the appointment.
It was reported that the health authority has recently approved the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine for use in children aged between five and 11.
Azmi told the media today that PICKids will start on Feb 3, and the Health Ministry will receive their first batch of the vaccine for children tomorrow.
Children with comorbidities and who are at high risk for severe Covid-19 will be prioritised, while those with a history of severe allergies or anaphylaxis against medicines, food, or unknown ingredients are not eligible for the vaccination. - Mkini
