Covid 19 3 631 New Cases Highest Daily Death Count Ever
COVID-19 | The Health Ministry today reported 18 new Covid-19 related deaths - the highest ever - amidst 3,631 new Covid-19 cases nationwide.
The Klang Valley reported the highest number of cases (34.6 percent) followed by Johor (12.83 percent) and Sabah (12.48 percent).
In Selangor, one in seven new cases were detected among those suffering from symptoms. Those with symptoms are more likely to spread the Covid-19 virus.

Of the 3,631 new cases, six were imported. Sarawak (229), Terengganu (178), Kelantan (161) and Putrajaya (39) reported a record-high number of new cases.

Deaths
Of the 18 casualties, Selangor reported the most (9) followed by Sabah (3), Kuala Lumpur (2) and Sarawak (2). Johor and Penang respectively reported one case. The national cumulative death toll has reached 660.
The Klang Valley's Covid-19 cumulative death toll as a proportion of the national total has hit 23.8 percent, up from 15 percent at the beginning of the year. Conversely, Sabah's proportion has gone down from 55 percent of the national total to 47 percent during the same time period.

The Health Ministry said there were 355 active Covid-19 clusters that are being monitored of which 86 reported new cases today. The largest number of new cases came from the Pasai cluster (112 cases) which began in Sibu, Sarawak.
