About 200 people congregated at the area from 2pm, calling for ministers responsible for the failure of the littoral combat ship (LCS) project to be sacked or brought to justice.
Dang Wangi district police chief Noor Dellhan Yahaya said police have taken note of the placards made by protesters at the event.
He said an investigation paper has been opened under the Peaceful Assembly Act which requires notice of at least 10 days to be given before an assembly is to be held.

“For now, 13 persons who took part in this assembly have been identified and will be called in to have their statements taken. Based on our observation, people who took part comprised NGOs, university students and politicians,” he said in a statement.
On Thursday, the rally’s organisers said it would stage a protest pertaining to the LCS project. They called on the public to gather at the shopping complex to make their voices heard.
The group also called on the government to address the complaints made by then navy chief Abdul Aziz Jaafar on the purchase of the ships.
The LCS project has come under scrutiny after Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee criticised the delays in the project.
The first ship, launched in 2017, had been due for completion in 2019. However, none of the six ships has been completed or delivered although RM6 billion has been spent on the project. - FMT
