Conspiracy Against Anwar Ibrahim Says Fuziah Salleh
(The Star) – The disagreements over the appointment of certain state PKR chairmen is akin to belittling the party president’s decision, says Fuziah Salleh.
The state PKR chairman said there appeared to be a concerted effort all over the country to question Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s selection.
“I hope those involved are not just pawns being manipulated by certain people,” the Kuantan MP said after handing out school aid to 400 students yesterday.
Her recent appointment had also come under fire by Paya Besar PKR division chief Albakri Salim and party colleague Latheefa Koya.
Latheefa also singled out Fuziah and Sabah state chief Christina Liew Chin Jin as being appointed without the support of the majority.
Fuziah, who is Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, brushed aside Albakri’s claim, saying he was just a lone voice in the division.
She added that Latheefa had every right to express her views but the party constitution was clear that it was the party president’s prerogative to appoint all state chiefs.
“Before this, the president came to Kuantan to get feedback as Pahang is a frontline state in the next election.
“He then called and asked me whether I was willing to accept the post. I told him it was up to his wisdom.
“I don’t mind being given any position. I will just do the work as I have held posts at every level,” she said.
Fuziah said she accepted the position even though she knew it was not easy, seeing that Pahang was still governed by Barisan Nasional.
“Since the president is confident and has placed his trust in me to lead the state PKR, I accepted it as a challenge,” she said.
