Citf Plugs Loophole In Mysejahtera To Stop Illegal Vaccine Agents

The Covid-19 Immunisation Taskforce (CITF) will be introducing a two-factor authentication system to stop 'backdoor' vaccine agents from exploiting a loophole in the Malaysia Vaccine Administration System (MyVAS), according to Khairy Jamaluddin.
Khairy, who is the minister in charge of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (NIP), said the loophole was identified around the "Add Vaccinee" feature in the MyVAS system.
This feature sets appointments for vaccine recipients via the backend of the MySejahtera app.
"So now we are going to introduce a two-factor authentication system for people who want to add vaccinees manually.
"There will be a personal time stamp and personal ID associated with anybody who adds a vaccinee manually," said Khairy.
"If there are incidents of syndicates or cartels at PPVs, we will be able to quickly identify (them)," he said during a joint press conference with Health Minister Dr Adham Baba.
Following KiniTV's special report that exposed self-appointed illegal "vaccine agents" who exploited the loopholes, Khairy today said several police reports have been made.
One case has been referred to the Attorney-General's Chambers for further action, he added.
KiniTV spoke to one such agent who claimed they could guarantee a vaccination appointment for a price, or else money would be refunded.
The report also quoted a doctor who said vaccination centre personnel are given access to the MyVAS system and are authorised to create new appointments on waitlists.
The people on these waitlists would be called to get jabbed if the initial vaccine recipient failed to show up for their appointment.
However, slots on these waitlists were allegedly offered for sale. - Mkini
