The special discussion, which is an initiative by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, is to determine the best ways to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, including its implementation during the current state of emergency.
The discussion is scheduled to begin at 2.30pm today at Istana Negara.
Aside from Zuki, Attorney-General Tan Sri Idrus Harun and the Health director-general are also expected to attend the special discussion.
This discussion came after 18 political party leaders met with the King last week.
On Wednesday, Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu met the king.
On Thursday, the Agong accepted the audience of Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, Parti Pejuang Tanah Air acting chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal.
Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, MIC president Tan Sri S A Vigneswaran and Parti Bersatu Sabah president Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili met the king on Friday.
Last Monday, Al-Sultan Abdullah received the audience of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu president Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Abang Openg, Parti Rakyat Sarawak president Tan Sri Dr James Jemut Masing, Parti Rakyat Bersatu Sarawak president Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian and Parti Demokratik Progresif president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing. The audience was held online.
In a statement yesterday, Comptroller of the Royal Household of Istana Negara, Datuk Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the King has also granted an audience to Special Independent Committee on Emergency chairman Tun Arifin Zakaria.- NST
