Bn S Bemban Candidate Pledges To Resolve Traffic Woes
MALACCA POLLS | The BN candidate in Bemban, Koh Chin Han, has drawn up a plan to overcome the traffic congestion in the area if elected in the Malacca state election on Nov 20.
This is in the third pledge of his manifesto which was unveiled today.
“We have plans for roads including the construction of new ones to reduce congestion,” he told reporters in Jasin, Malacca, today.
The Jasin MCA division chairperson (above) said other focus areas in his manifesto include rejuvenating the economy and creating job opportunities to protect the welfare of the people as they have been badly hit by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I will work closely with the state and federal governments to come up with development policies that can spur the economy and attract more investors to this area to create jobs.
“I am also determined to help solve the flash flood problem in Bemban by introducing flood mitigation plans because flooding has caused some residents to have sleepless nights,” he added.
Koh, 51, who holds a Master’s in Social Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, also wants to focus on promoting harmony among the various races in line with the Malaysian Family concept.
Bemban is seeing a five-cornered fight involving Koh, PN’s Dr Mohd Yadzil Yaakub, Azmi Kamis (Independent), Ng Choon Koon (Independent) and Tey Kok Kiew of Pakatan Harapan.
The seat was won by Wong Fort Pin of DAP with a 1,345-vote majority in the last general election.
Early voting is on Nov 16 and polling is on Nov 20 for the election, which was called following the dissolution of the state assembly on Oct 4 after four state assemblypersons withdrew support for the chief minister.
