Bn Ph Seat Distribution Only After Assemblies Are Dissolved Says Tok Mat
BN deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan said the seat negotiation will involve BN and PH, not the parties within the coalition like Umno, Amanah or PKR. (Mohamad Hasan Facebook pic)PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional (BN) deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan says the distribution of seats between the coalition and Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the upcoming elections will only be done after the six state assemblies are dissolved.
Mohamad, who is also the Umno deputy president, said this is to avoid infighting and “force” all parties to agree over the seat distribution.
“For now, we focus on the groundwork first. If we discuss and decide on the seat distribution now, there will be conflict because everyone will stand their ground and that will result in infighting.

Mohamad also said BN would not allow any individual or party within the coalition to make a decision regarding seat distribution, adding that only the state leadership can negotiate. However, the final decision will be in the hands of the central leadership.
“And the negotiation will involve BN and PH — not the parties within the coalition like Umno, Amanah and PKR.”
He said BN’s focus now would be to win the elections in all six states, including the PAS-dominated states of Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
“Our focus is on how the unity government can win because now we are being looked down upon by Perikatan Nasional (PN), which wants to capture all six states.
“This is a challenge for us. We must make sure that not even one seat in Negeri Sembilan falls to PN. The same goes for Selangor and Penang.” - FMT
