Bn Pas Unite Threaten Protests If Guan Eng Doesn T Apologise

A fractured BN united together with PAS today, to lodge a police report against Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng's remarks that Umno and PAS were "waging war" on non-Malays

The report was lodged by Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, MIC Youth chief R Thinalan, MCA Youth secretary Daniel Wa Wai How and Federal Territories PAS Youth leader Mohd Shahir Abu Hassan
Speaking to the press after lodging the report, Asyraf said there will be protests if Lim doesn't apologise for his remarks
"If he doesn't apologise, we are prepared to take to the streets, to state loud and clear, that what he said doesn't represent Malaysians
"We want to show that Malaysians hate racism," he said, adding that Lim should also quit as minister for being a "racist chauvinist"
Yesterday, Lim issued a statement in Chinese urging MCA to immediately leave BN because Umno and PAS were now "declaring war" on non-Muslims
He issued a correction at about 10pm last night which replaced the phrase "declaring war" with "targeting". Both the original statement and the corrected version were in Chinese and issued in his capacity as DAP leader
Asyraf said Umno's union with PAS had nothing to do with belittling other races or religions
BN is currently at breaking point, with MCA and MIC saying they are "moving on" and exploring a "new alliance".
Asked about this, Thinalan said the four parties banded together today on an issue that is above politics
"This is not about politics. This is about Malaysia which consists of Malays, Indians and Chinese
"Even though we are from political parties, we are taking a step as a normal citizen of Malaysia. We feel that it is wrong for (Lim) to say that," the MIC Youth chief said. - Mkini
