Bersatu Confident Of State Polls Victory Due To Youth Voters Spike Rina

Wanita Bersatu leader Rina Harun said her party is confident in winning the coming state elections due to a spike of youth voters that emerged during the 15th general election (GE15).
“We can tell from the spike that the turnout will likely be the same for the state elections.
“So our chances of winning are high and everyone in the party knows that,” she told reporters at Menara PGRM in Kuala Lumpur after a Bersatu event.
Earlier, Rina (above) attended the party’s annual general meeting (AGM), giving the opening speech for its women’s wing.
During her opening speech, however, she told the women’s wing that victory in the state polls is not guaranteed.
As such, Rina urged members to work harder in order for Perikatan Nasional - of which Bersatu is a part - to win the upcoming six state elections, including in the coalition’s stronghold of Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.
She also stressed that Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin’s arrest and charges will not “weaken” the wing and party’s spirit as a whole.
“In fact, I think it (his arrest) has fuelled the anger and passion amongst us. This would just make us want to fight harder,” the former MP said.
The Bersatu AGM will run for three days and begin with a meeting of the women’s wing. 
Usually, the youth and women’s wings hold their meetings on the same day but the former is scheduled for tomorrow.
This year, the two assemblies are not being held simultaneously due to Muhyiddin’s graft charges.
Additionally, Rina said Wanita PAS and Wanita Gerakan representatives were not in attendance at the AGM today as they wanted to show solidarity with Muhyiddin at the court complex this morning.
Muhyiddin’s planned speech and opening ceremony, originally set for 8pm tomorrow, have also been cancelled. Instead, there will be a rally and public lecture in Gombak, Selangor. - Mkini
