Azmin I Am Committed To Pkr And Will Stay Unless There Are Those Who Want To Kick Me Out
PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali says he will remain committed to the party, unless there are those who want him kicked out.
(The Star) – “There is no reason for me to leave the party, unless there are people who are jealous and want to kick me out.
“It is up to them,” he told reporters when met at Parliament lobby on Tuesday (Oct 15).
Azmin, who is also Economic Affairs Minister, noted that he and his team had secured more than two-thirds support in the party elections last November, reiterating his commitment to the party.
“I am committed to the cause. I will remain in the party and am committed to build the party and support the leadership and members,” he said.
Azmin was asked to comment on recent claims by PKR advisory council deputy chairman Syed Husin Ali that he had plans to leave the party.
Azmin noted that Syed Husin’s recent disparaging remarks against Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s leadership may be due to him being envious that Dr Mahathir had won the overwhelming support of the rakyat.
Syed Husin, who is also PKR co-founder, said Azmin’s plans included joining Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia and Gerakan, which did not materialise.
Syed Husin, who made the claims in a recent interview with an online portal, also said that Azmin’s plans included leaving PKR to form his own party.
Syed Husin had also recently launched a broadside against Dr Mahathir, claiming that the latter had stymied Pakatan leaders, including failing to outline a clear leadership transition plan.
