Azlan Abdullah Bows Out Of Prolintas Manager S Board
Prolintas Group CEO Azlan Abdullah is no longer a member of Prolintas Infra Business Trust’s risk, nomination, and remuneration committees.
PETALING JAYA: Prolintas Group CEO Azlan Abdullah has stepped down from the board of Prolintas Infra Business Trust’s trustee-manager firm, citing personal commitments.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Prolintas Infra confirmed Azlan’s departure from Prolintas Managers Sdn Bhd as its non-independent, non-executive director.
With his resignation, he is no longer a member of the firm’s risk, nomination, and remuneration committees.
He remains the CEO of Prolintas Group, which saw two senior officials being slapped with corruption charges last month.
Separately, Prolintas Managers has appointed its CEO, Malik Parvez Ahmad Nazir Ahmad, as a non-executive director to replace Azlan. Malik will remain on the firm’s risk, nomination, and remuneration committees.
Until a new CEO is appointed at Prolintas Managers, an interim executive management team led by non-executive chairman Ikmal Hijaz Hashim will oversee its operations.
“The board has deliberated and resolved that the interim team led by Ikmal will continue to ensure the smooth stewardship of Prolintas Infra Business Trust while the search for a new CEO is ongoing,” the company said.
Last month, Prolintas chief operating officer Rostam Shahrif Tami was charged with soliciting and accepting a RM70,000 bribe, while Zairulnizam Rohani, a project manager at a subsidiary, was charged with accepting RM50,000 in bribes.
Prolintas said the pair, who pleaded not guilty, have been on a leave of absence since July last year. - FMT
