Mazhilamani: A very timely show of concern by MIC deputy president M Saravanan. Pray that the non-Muslims of different faiths come together.
I am wondering why preacher Zamri Vinoth is referring to a long-forgotten temple incident at Subang Jaya, if he is a practitioner of Islam, the religion of peace.
He is arousing buried anger and emotions. What is his right to say that if Hindus don't want to be mocked, they must stop doing such things?
Does he know what inner cleansing one has to go through for 40 days before preparing to carry the kavadi?
Kavadi carrying is related to many reasons, from atonement, thanksgiving, to gratitude for fulfilled prayers and a better journey in life. It is all about faith.
Zamri, coming from Hindu origin, must know all these. The least he can do is to keep his peace. The Hindus may willingly forgive the Era FM radio hosts for their ignorant mistake, while Zamri - definitely no.
I don't have to be a Hindu but it pains me to see people like Zamri disparaging another religion.
Even the Chinese celebrate religious festivals like Thaipusam. Pujas are conducted to appease the deities or energies before the start of Puranic Puppet Shadow shows.
Police must haul up Zamri.
It is people like him who are giving a bad name to the royals and the PM who have constantly and sincerely called for Malaysians to unite.
Zamri is not just hurting the Hindus but questioning and challenging the authority of the royals and government.
GanMu: The Era FM DJs are being investigated under Section 298 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act. I hope this preacher's case is classified under the same sections.
Religious insults must stop, this is blasphemy, a very serious offence by this Indian convert preacher.
This man is arrogant and just because he is a preacher and a Muslim, he thinks he is above the law.
In the interest of peace and with a view to putting an end to any more such religious insults without a care for feelings of the Hindus, the authorities should immediately take action against him, arrest and charge him.
Religious insults should not be tolerated under any circumstances. He ought to pay a heavy penalty and have his preaching licence revoked.
He is a farce - condemning other religions does not make him a great preacher.
He has the audacity to touch on 3R (race, religion, royalty) issue hardly less than a day after the PM warned that doing so is a threat to harmony and must be stopped.
This preacher is just doing that - touching on religion, thereby threatening harmony more so in the holy month of Ramadan. Home Ministry must ensure he is arrested.
Penangkid: By Zamri's logic, does that mean it's acceptable for non-Muslims to mock Islamic prayers or any other religious traditions?
Why do individuals like Zamri exist in our society? What meaningful contributions do they bring?
Instead of fostering harmony in Malaysia's multiracial and multicultural landscape, they seem intent on creating division and chaos.
What purpose do such provocations serve, other than inciting hatred?
In a country built on mutual respect and understanding, figures like Zamri should be held accountable for their words and actions.
For a better world: This character, a convert, continues to spew disgusting comments and disparaging words against Hinduism for several years now.
Even with dozens of police reports on his offensive acts and words, the authorities remain silent.
Only once, a few years ago, he was warned to stop such insults.
Do not mock or make fun of sensitive matters, especially pertaining to religious beliefs of non-Muslims, and as a matter of fact, on all religious practices.
What if, similar mocking or jokes are done to your religion?
But, he appears to have the support of numerous popular Islamic religious personalities, especially in Perlis, and Kedah.
This makes him bold to spew such venom on other Malaysians' religious beliefs, practices, traditions and spiritual activities.

However, the preachers or the followers develop an ownership of religion which is engulfed with their egos.
As such, start seeing the bad of others and the good of oneself - blinded by new love.
Pity the individual with weak spirituality, though they practice rituals with shallow spiritualism, who may show ignorance of humbleness because self-pride and ego dominate in the name of religion.
They forget every religion lives in a glass house. If one throws love; love will return. If one throws scorn,the scorn may turn at the glass house.
Steven Ong: Let’s face the facts in this world. He cannot be charged for saying what many of the Muslims already believed, but can be charged for insulting Hinduism by saying it in public.
Most likely he won't have to face any charges, as insulting non- Islamic religion in public seems to have been accepted the social contract. Many are still free including Zamri.
There are many videos online about possession by spirits and due to drug intoxication, from many religious followers, as assumed by the video makers.
One is about being possessed by the spirit of God(s) or spiritual attainment with psychedelic drugs. Just sharing what is online, to those still not aware.
Solo: To err is human.
To be a repeat offender and intentionally disparage another religion, that deserves punishment.
There are extremists among all races, and this incident is feeding their vile comments. Calmer heads needed, but not expecting it from the current leaders. - Mkini
