Anwar Potential Witness In Yusoff Rawther S Suit Against Farhash
Anwar Ibrahim is a potential witness in Muhammad Yusoff Rawther’s suit against the PKR president’s political aide Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak.
The Port Dickson MP’s name is on a list of potential witnesses who may be called during the hearing of Yusoff’s suit before the Shah Alam Sessions Court on March 30 next year.
The legal action is over an alleged physical assault on Yusoff perpetrated at Anwar’s office in Bukit Gasing, Petaling Jaya in May last year.
Yusoff’s counsel Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla today confirmed with Malaysiakini that Anwar is a potential witness in the suit against Farhash.
“His (Anwar’s) name is on the witness list, but we have not decided yet whether to call him or not (to testify during the hearing).
“Whether Anwar does appear to give evidence, whether as a witness for the plaintiff or defendant, will depend on the progress of the case and the decision of the respective parties as the matter develops,” Haniff said.
The lawyer added that the Shah Alam Sessions Court fixed the suit for hearing before Shah Alam Sessions Court judge Fathiyah Idris on March 30 and 31 next year.
It was reported that Yusoff is suing both Farhash and Anwar’s press secretary Tunku Nashrul Tunku Abaidah over the alleged physical assault at Anwar’s office in May last year.

The two separate suits were filed at the Shah Alam Sessions Court last year.
Yusoff came into the limelight last year through a Dec 3 press conference during which he claimed to have been sexually assaulted by Anwar.
On Jan 14 this year, the Attorney-General’s Chambers announced that no charges would be levelled against Anwar due to a lack of evidence.
On Jan 24, Farhash filed a defamation suit against Yusoff in relation to the Dec 3 press conference. This legal action was filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court.
On Feb 20, it was reported that the police had revived the probe into the alleged assault against Yusoff. - Mkini
