Anwar Ibrahim The Fallen Angel
Yes, if it is a choice of who should be Prime Minster, Mahathir or Anwar, I would choose Mahathir. It does not matter whether I choose Mahathir because I love him or not. What matters is anyone who has the characteristics of Iblis must never be allowed to be the Prime Minister. And in this situation Mahathir may be evil but he is by far the lesser of the two evils.
THE CORRIDORS OF POWER
Raja Petra Kamarudin
The devil comes with many names. Satan, Iblis, Al-Shaitan, etc. According to Abrahamic tradition, Iblis is an angel, albeit a Jinn, and is made from fire. Hence, Iblis is more superior than other angels. Iblis is also proud of its ‘special position’ and superiority and could not comprehend why it had to kowtow to Adam, which was a weak mortal made merely from earth. Hence Iblis defied God and refused to kowtow to Adam.
As punishment for that defiance, Iblis was expelled from God’s inner circle and was no longer God’s special angel. Iblis swore to God he would destroy Adam and all his descendants and, from that day on, Iblis’s main mission is to instigate humankind and bring them to hell with him. And one of the sins Iblis is using to lead humans astray is the sin of pride and superiority, the same sin that got Iblis into trouble with God in the first place.
Anwar thinks he is God’s chosen one and that becoming prime minister is his God-given birth-right
Today, we have Anwar Ibrahim who feels he is ‘Godsent’ to Malaysia (at least his wife, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, thinks so). They talk about Anwar’s ‘birth-right’ of being the next Prime Minister of Malaysia, or of being the Prime Minister-in-waiting. They tell us that out of 32 million Malaysians there is no other person more capable or more qualified to lead the nation.
And because of that, Anwar has no respect or regards for Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad — who is too old, has outlived his usefulness (which was merely to destroy Umno), already has one leg in his grave (or maybe even one-and-a-half legs), is the reason why Malaysia is in the very bad shape it is in today (Malaysia was already destroyed long before Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and Najib Tun Razak took over), and much more.
Anwar despises Mahathir and has nothing but contempt for the old man. In public, he has no choice but to pretend he is honky-dory with Mahathir. But away from public view, he has only foul words for Mahathir.
Anwar shows one face when he talks to the Jews in the US and another face when he talks to the Muslims in the Middle East
There are actually many faces of Anwar Ibrahim. There is his public face. There is his behind-closed-doors face. There is his face when he talks to the Muslims and clerics. There is his face when he talks to the Americans and non-Muslims in Malaysia. There is his face when he talks to his PKR people. There is his face when he talks to DAP and others in Pakatan Harapan.
Anwar is so good at changing faces, and does it so frequently, that even he cannot remember any longer which face is his true face.
If it all boils down to a choice between these two, then choose the lesser of the two evils
But the long and short of it is Anwar suffers from the same disease that Iblis or Satan suffers from. He thinks he is far superior and better than others and is God’s favourite and chosen one. But even Iblis miscalculated his own importance and fell from grace, to be condemned as a fallen angel. And this is what is happening to Anwar as well.
