Akmal Kicks Up A Fuss After Turning Up In Pg Court Only To Catch The Dpp In His Flag Row Case Napping

RIGHTIST UMNO Youth chief Dr Muhamad Akmal Saleh has a bone to pick with the deputy public prosecutor (DPP) yesterday (Sept 22) after being told that documents related to charges levelled at him over his Jalur Gemilang row “are still incomplete”.
This came about during his case management hearing at the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate’s Court in mainland Penang whereby he had turned up with his team of lawyers after he was charged on Aug 22 under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code for sparking public fear and alarm in an Aug 11 Facebook (FB) post.

“The DPP only submitted half of the documents while another half was not ready … You’re the one who wanted to charge me yet you your documents are incomplete,” fumed the firebrand Merlimau state assemblyman in a FB post.

“If I was charged even though the documents aren’t complete, I want to ask what is the outcome with the person (59-year-old Kepala Batas hardware shop owner Feng Jin Zhen) who flew the flag upside down.
“Until today, there seems to be no development despite the cops having claimed that the investigation paper has been submitted to the DPP. Are the documents complete?
“If not, how come my case has proceeded whereby I was already charged despite the incomplete documents? Can the DPP kindly answer my question for I won’t concede defeat without a fight till the very end.”
Commenting on the ordeal of the Melaka State Rural Development, Agriculture and Food Security Committee chairman, UMNO Youth EXCO Aliff Hilmi has described the action against Akmal as a form of “political assassination”.
“’… (the) prosecution that has no evidence or solid reasons. The rakyat are not stupid for they’re are able to judge . Hopefully, everything will be simplified and expedited ,” added the Bukit Bendera division head who had accompanied Akmal at the Bukit Mertajam Magistrate’s Court yesterday (Sept 22).

In an earlier post prior to his departure to Penang from Melaka for his second court appearance, the Russia-trained medical doctor reiterated that he remained fearless to face the charges levelled at him.
“If this is the price I’ve to pay to defend the Jalur Gemilang, I shall fight till the very end despite having to go up and down the court.
“The irony though is that the person who has disrespected the Jalur Gemilang by flying it upside down is still roaming free outside.
“On that note, I wish to congratulate the government but remember that the rakyat are able to judge and don’t expect me to back out.” – Sept 23, 2025
