Ain Husniza Gets The Last Laugh Scores Big In Spm

It has been a tumultuous school year for Ain Husniza Saiful Nizam, who made the headlines in April last year for voicing out against one of her teachers for allegedly making a rape joke in class.
Since then, she has been bombarded with lawsuits, threats - including a rape threat from a classmate, who later apologised - and criticisms.
Some even said she would fail her SPM because she disrespected her teacher.
Today, she definitely has the last laugh as she received her Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) results.
Taking to Twitter, Ain, who goes by the handle @ainhsaifulnizam, disclosed that she had bagged 7As and 1B in her SPM examinations - which she took last year.
In her Twitter thread, she shared her results slip alongside direct messages from a Twitter user - whose identity was kept anonymous - with the caption: “From this to this.”
The anonymous user had told Ain: “Focus on your SPM la sis. Do you want straight Fs?”
Proving them wrong
The message is among many other demoralising messages sent to the teenager after she went viral on TikTok for a video in which she alleged that a male teacher at her school had made a rape joke during a physical and health education class last year.
Ain later recounted the tremendous amount of stress she had suffered in that period.
“I cannot tell you how pressured I was during SPM. Not only (that), people (were) telling me there is no ‘berkat’ (blessing) in my studies and continuously wishing me a failure in my studies.
“They body shamed me, they tore me down from every standpoint they could. This message? Is only one of the hundreds of people wishing me the worst,” she added.
She noted that her final year of school involved a lot of pressure and numerous days spent crying or visiting the police station.
“When I read that message, I promised to myself I'm going to prove them wrong,” she said, referring to her initial tweet.
The legal battle
On April 24, 2021, Ain posted a video on TikTok where she claimed a male teacher had made jokes about rape during a physical and health education class, prompting widespread outrage on social media.

On Aug 4, 2021, it was reported that Ain and her father Saiful Nizam Ab Wahab received a letter of demand from a male teacher for purportedly defaming him.
The teen and both her parents were named as respondents in the letter, which demanded, among others, an apology and monetary compensation of RM1 million, with failure to fulfil the demands would result in further legal action.
Last November, the teacher, Khairul Nizam Sanuddin, had filed a defamation suit against the father and daughter.
In March, Ain and her father filed a counterclaim against the teacher, citing emotional pressure and nervous shock due to the deeply oppressive and psychologically damaging sexual joke. - Mkini
