Agong Sends Special Envelope For Suhaily S Family

(Instagram pic)PETALING JAYA: Suhaily Ramly, who related her struggle to make ends meet for her nine children including four who are handicapped, today received a special package from none other than the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Abdullah Sultah Ahmad Shah
Her story which was highlighted by FMT last week caught the attention of the monarch, who made a personal contribution to her and her husband, Samsudin Ramli
They were met by the Agong’s representative, Muzli Mohd Zin, who visited them at their public flat in Kota Damansara
“Hopefully, the donation will help to ease the family’s burden,” the palace said today, posting a picture of the visit on its official Instagram page
When contacted, Suhaily was lost for words
“I’m just overjoyed. I don’t know what to say anymore,” she told FMT
She has been receiving a stream of visitors bringing items such as rice, eggs and other essentials since FMT highlighted her family’s plight on Sunday
The 44-year-old gave up her job as a nursing assistant to care for her family in their small PPR flat in Kota Damansara. Her husband, 48, lost his income due to the movement control order
Their children are aged one to 22 years
Their eldest son suffered a motorcycle accident four years ago. Her two daughters, aged 21 and 18, have learning disorders, while her three-year-old girl was born with Down Syndrome
Suhaily said she would spend wisely the donations she received
“Our fridge has long been broken. Now we can buy a new one,” she said, adding that they also plan to buy basic furniture including beds for their children. - FMT
