A Blatant Political Atrocity
I AM perturbed by information that the present government wants Umno president Zahid Hamidi and the rest of party leaders in the 'Court Cluster' to be implicated, convicted and go behind bars, thus shutting the doors completely behind them to stand in the next general election.
Although it is yet to be ascertained, words and confession of sort were overheard at the Kuala Lumpur High Court few days ago together with unconfirmed news of what was discussed during Bersatu meeting last week. I did posted about it in my FB, and so did others, which prompted Bersatu secretary-general Hamzah Zainuddin and Zahid lodged a police report on it.
If the Bersatu meeting did not touch on the matter, how about the empassing remarks made by an investigating officer at the Court on Tuesday? "That they really want Zahid to be implicated 'BY HOOK OR BY CROOK, NO MATTER HOW YOU DO IT!"
When Zahid's trial looks chocking down the prosecutors as most of its witnesses gave the Bagan Datuk MP a winning streak, directive from somebody or parties up there seemed to be meddling with the court and the judiciary.
I remember the day when PM Muhyiddin Yassin said, "I don't interfere with the judiciary... I got a religion" but here we are, the Attorney-General 'was asked' (according to the IO) to look at loopholes in the trial to ensure that Zahid is guilty.
To me, this is a political atrocity!
The Black Ops to demonise Umno and Barisan Nasional which Zahid leads is a baton passed on by Pakatan Harapan to Perikatan Nasional. To bring down Umno looks like their ultimate objective, as some analysts see it.
What else? Bringing down Umno will pave the way to government-led agents to shatter it and handing it over to selective leaders whom they trust can take order from them. If they cannot see Umno demise, they will ensure the party is under their command.
Zahid has been the main force in defending Umno from the evil move by former PH regime to de-register it. He also refused a lenient trial that will lead to his acquittal should he agreed to cooperate with Bersatu in GE15 and letting of the 15 Parliamentary seats won by former MPs who had crossover to Bersatu.
He remains defiant and in fact led Umno/BN to several victories in they by-elections. With no grassroots and machinery, Bersatu was expecting Umno to lend its hand during the next general election since the 8,000 Bersatu branches nationwide announced by Hamzah few months ago did not materialise.
I can't help but thinking of the late Ferdinand Marcos and Saddam Hussein when they rule the Philippines and Iraq respectively. Doesn't differ much. How their infamous atrocities and dictatorship are now 'subscribed' by our government.
This razor-thin government, many believe, will resort to whatever means available to stay on. No need to mention the much questionable emergency law which puts away the Parliament session for good although the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has decreed it can still proceed.
By adding more complications to Zahid's case, I think they really mean it!
