Zuraida S Ngo Refutes Umno Man S Dap Influenced Accusations

NGO Penggerak Komuniti Negara (PKN) has refuted an allegation that it is being used by Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin for political programmes.
In a statement this evening, PKN chairperson Nor Hizwan Ahmad (above) hit back at Umno supreme council member Razlan Rafii and said he was under DAP’s “influence” when he made the accusation.
“His accusation looked like retaliation as if he just followed a suggestion by DAP - (Umno’s) new friend in their new political alignment.
“DAP MP Hannah Yeoh previously tweeted that she wanted to see Umno retaliate by demanding for the sacking of useless Bersatu Ministers (and asked) if anyone could think of some names.
“This clearly influenced Razlan’s actions,” Hizwan alleged.
Razlan lambasted seven ministers yesterday for alleged incompetence in combating the Covid-19 pandemic. Six, including Zuraida, were from Bersatu while one was from GPS.
His criticism came shortly after fellow Umno supreme council member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman was fired from his post as Prasarana chairperson.
 PKN runs vaccination campaigns
Razlan criticised Zuraida for allegedly using PKN, which she is the patron of, for political activities instead of encouraging sign-ups for the government’s Covid-19 vaccination programme.
Hizwan denied this allegation.
“Zuraida is a patron who always offers advice and guidance to us as an NGO that always supports the government’s aspirations, especially the Housing and Local Government Ministry.
“Our programmes run nationwide all year round and we offer all types of help, support and activities that focus on the B40 group. This includes awareness campaigns, SOP-compliance campaigns, and Covid-19 vaccination registration campaigns.


“This is in line with the ministry, which has members on the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force,” he explained.
Hizwan heaped praise on Zuraida for her service to the government.
“Our (PKN) volunteers are always ready to help the government (at vaccine administration centres).
“Led by Zuraida, the ministry’s functions and contributions in helping the government combat Covid-19 is of course far bigger and more comprehensive. Her performance has been extraordinary,” he said.
The PKN chairperson thus advised Razlan to check his facts and learn about how the government works.
This was especially when Umno headed many ministries in the Perikatan Nasional administration.
“Help them out. Don’t simply criticise without any facts.
“PKN as an NGO is trying our best to help the government even though we do not have any special allocation from any ministries,” he added. - Mkini
