Zaid To Rafizi Is Anwar As Brave As He Claims Azam Is
Zaid Ibrahim has challenged Rafizi Ramli’s sincerity over his call for the MACC to probe Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s former aide Farhash Wafa Salvador.
The former law minister questioned whether the PKR lawmaker truly believes Anwar would permit a “complete and thorough investigation” into his former political secretary.
Noting that Anwar had described MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki as “courageous” and thus deserving of a third extension, Zaid questioned whether the same could be said about the prime minister himself.
“If Rafizi had been more serious about his call to the MACC, I would have supported him. But only last week did he say Anwar should remain as PM and gave his vote of confidence.
ADS“Did he (Rafizi) expect Anwar to allow a complete and thorough investigation into Farhash when he would not do that for Hajiji/GRS (Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor and his Gabungan Rakyat Sabah coalition implicated in a mining scandal), the Penang LRT, LCS (Littoral Combat Ship scandal) and a few other billion-dollar items?
“Of course, Anwar has described Azam as a very courageous man, but is Anwar courageous?” Zaid asked in a post on X.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s former aide Farhash Wafa SalvadorReferring to the “Turun Anwar” rally in Kuala Lumpur, Zaid threw down a challenge to the PKR lawmaker.
“Rafizi, if you come down to Dataran Merdeka tomorrow, I will believe you,” he said.
Rafizi’s warning for Anwar
Earlier, Rafizi said he did not doubt Anwar’s commitment to eradicating corruption, but at the same time, cautioned him against being perceived as selective.
On this note, he called on the prime minister to view the allegations against Farhash seriously and not dismiss them on the grounds that he is no longer his aide.
Referring to a coal mining scandal in which Farhash has been implicated, Rafizi noted that this is not the first time the former has been linked to controversial business dealings.
He said Farhash’s wealth and influence are frequent topics of conversation, from ordinary citizens to businesspeople interacting with the government and corporate sectors.
“Since Anwar became prime minister, Farhash has suddenly emerged as a prolific businessperson with interests in numerous companies. Some of these companies have reportedly secured large procurement contracts from the government.
“The actual value of government procurement contracts awarded to companies linked to Farhash is not publicly known,” he added.
Rafizi said that when this issue was previously raised, Anwar simply issued a denial, explaining that Farhash’s business dealings have nothing to do with him as he is no longer his political aide. - Mkini
