Zahid S Pn Has No Indian Candidates Claim To Rile Up Voters Falls Flat

JOHOR POLLS | BN chief Ahmad Zahid Hamidi tried to rile up Indian voters today, by claiming that Perikatan Nasional (PN) allegedly did not field any Indian candidates to represent their community.
However, this allegation is false. PN actually has two Indian candidates.
Speaking to MIC campaign workers in Johor Bahru today, Zahid said this was grounds for the Indian community to reject his rival Muhyiddin Yassin and PN.
"PN wants to be the Johor government. They have Malay candidates, Chinese candidates from Gerakan, but not a single Indian candidate.
"They (PN) don't value Indian voters in Johor, that is why Indian voters must reject PN in Johor.
"In an attempt to form a stable Johor government, 'abah' (Muhyiddin, says) he is caring, but abah does not care about Indian voters," he said.

BN, in contrast, he said, has four Indian candidates from MIC.
PN's two Indian candidates are Bersatu's K Alagenthiran in Layang-Layang and Johor PAS supporter's wing chief V Selvendran in Paloh.
The Johor election has witnessed some parties trying to break racial moulds when placing candidates in race-majority seats.
Muda for example, placed the first Indian and Chinese candidates in Malay majority Machap and Tenang, while DAP fielded the first Malay candidate in Chinese majority Skudai.
To their credit, Umno also ceded the Kemelah to MIC, paving the way for the first Indian candidate in the seat. - Mkini
