Zahid S Case When The Queen Witness Fumbles
IF i am the presiding judge in Zahid Hamidi's trial, I will drop the case since the queen witness who put the former deputy prime minister in much troubles is providing 'back-and-forth' version of her statement since Monday.
I am not a law man. However, from any layman point of view, this case is time consuming and waste of time and (maybe) money. The prosecution witness (I choose not to mention her name as it reminds me of my former GF) finds it difficult to convince the court that Yayasan Akal Budi which is owned by Zahid & family was of fraudulence.
Used to serve Zahid as a personal secretary, the witness fumbled so many times when giving statements in the chamber. Those who thronged KL Court Complex were also puzzled as to why the prosecution witness found it difficult to establish the case which she herself lodged reports to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission after the 14th general election.
And if I am her, I will tell the judge that 'it was my mistake, and hereby apologise to the accused'. (Logic or not?)
I say only IF (no subjudice or prejudice at all).
Following the proceeding, I found out that the former SUS was providing unnecessary answers to Zahid's legal team's question. I think 17 times she mentioned 'terlepas pandang' or oversight during expediting her duty.
What? 17 times? Yes, to err is human but if you keep on repeating the same mistake, then you are doing it deliberately and with bad intention.
I don't know. The honorable judge will decide but at the rate it is going, and with almost all 87 prosecution witnesses (correct me if I'm wrong) giving statements on Zahid's side, I think a political drama will unfold in the house of justice.
The High Court heard today that an aide to Zahid Hamidi had been negligent in handling several cheques to settle credit card payments using the Yayasan Akalbudi account.
The admission was made by the queen witness when cross-examined by Zahid's lawyer, Ahmad Zaidi Zainal. Zaidi said Zahid had told him that 'the lady' made a lot of mistakes in issuing cheques under his name when she was his executive secretary.
She who is also an army officer, the 90th prosecution witness, admitted to the oversight.
Oversight? Details are for the media to publish.
This particular case is getting prominent, especially when it was associated with a 'political vendetta' of the previous PH government. If I am not wrong, the reports against Zahid, who is also Umno president, was lodged after Najib Razak 1MDB-linked was opened.
Let's hear more later...
