Zahid Bn To Retain Saarani As Mb If It Wins Perak Election

BN will retain Saarani Mohamad as the Perak menteri besar if the coalition wins the upcoming Perak state election, according to BN chairperson Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In his speech during a BN event in Bagan Datuk, Perak earlier today, Zahid said Saarani had shown an excellent record in leading the state government.
“We pray that Allah opens the heart of the Perak sultan to give his blessing for Saarani (above) to be appointed as menteri besar again (if BN wins the state election).
“I repeat, we will seek Tuanku’s permission for Saarani.
“Although Saarani is not that tall, so far he is one of the best menteri besar in Perak," Zahid said.
The event was attended by about 3,000 BN members including Saarani and top party leaders.
“I want BN to win big in the upcoming 15th general election. Don’t you all want to see BN becoming dominant again?
“Are we ready to work hard and help Saarani so that Perak can contribute towards making BN win big?” he added.
Earlier today, Perak ruler Sultan Nazrin Shah had given his consent for the dissolution of the Perak state assembly effective today.
Saarani, who had been the Kota Tampan state assemblyperson since 2004, was appointed as the 14th Perak menteri besar on December 10, 2020.
He replaced Ahmad Faizal Azumu from Bersatu, who resigned from the post after losing support from the majority in the state assembly.
The Perak state legislative assembly has a total of 59 seats.
Currently, 25 of the seats are held by BN, DAP (15), Amanah (5), Bersatu (4), PAS (3), PKR (3), PBM (3), and independent (1). - Mkini
