Youth Innovative Interior Design Architecture Challenge 2024 Award Celebrates Emerging Talents
THE Youth Innovative Interior Design & Architecture Challenge 2024 (YIIDEC 2024) held at the Jelatek Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur recently was a resounding success, drawing approximately 150 attendees.
Organised by rekatone.com with Fuyu Dezain (Central Region) and Johnids Interior Design Studio (Northern Region) as co-organisers, the event celebrated the creativity and innovation of young designers from across the nation.
Participants from a diverse range of tertiary institutions showcased their exceptional talents, including students from Taylor’s University and College; UCSI University; Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak; Shah Alam Community College; UOW Malaysia; KDU Penang; and Equator College Penang.
The challenge culminated in an inspiring awards ceremony that highlighted the best in interior design and architecture.
Also present to enliven the award night were representatives from the design and build industry Malaysia PropTech Association (MPA), Arte Axis Design Group, HCK Capital Group, S.U.A. Interior Design, Arkitek Mustapha Kamal, GreenTech Ideaslab, Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) and OE Edu Group.
The highlight of YIIDEC 2024 was the recognition of Nurin Farhanah Mohd Fadhlan from UiTM Sarawak who achieved an extraordinary feat by securing not one but four awards, earning her the title of the Judges’ Choice Award.
Next, Taylor’s University was also honoured with the Most Outstanding University Award, reflecting the high calibre of its students’ work and dedication to excellence in design education.
