Why Does Deepak Share Same Address With Egg Importer Director
The “egg saga” between MCA president Wee Ka Siong, egg importer J&E Advance Tech Sdn Bhd and controversial businessperson Deepak Jaikishan continues.
Earlier, Wee, who is Ayer Hitam MP, posted on Facebook questioning if Deepak has any family relationship with one of J&E's directors.
This comes after Muda vice-president Shahrizal Denci shared with him screenshots of company registration documents for J&E and CIP Group Sdn Bhd, which showed Deepak sharing the same home address with one called Jeena Giri.
Deepak is the managing director of CIP Group, according to his LinkedIn information, which said the company is involved in the pharmaceutical and property business - while Jeena Giri was listed as a company director for J&E.
"Thank you @DenciShahrizal for sharing information about the address that one of J&E Advanced Tech Sdn Bhd directors Jeena Giri shares with Deepak Jaikishan.
"Is this merely a coincidence? What is the relationship between Deepak Jaikishan and Jeena Giri?" Wee (above) asked on Facebook.
His posting came four days after Deepak refuted any relations to J&E – the sole company that Putrajaya allowed to import eggs from India during a local supply shortage.
Wee also shared the screenshots, which showed the home address located in a posh neighbourhood in Kuala Lumpur.
He sarcastically suggested that Deepak lodge a police report should his address be misused by Jeena Giri mentioned in the Companies Commission of Malaysia document for J&E.
Deepak JaikishanMalaysiakini has reached Deepak for his response to Wee's latest statement.
Wee, Deepak and J&E had been engaged in a lengthy "egg saga", an issue that had been ongoing for months.
It started in February after the former transport minister raised an issue in Parliament about the shortage of eggs in the country.
Wee told the Dewan Rakyat on Feb 22 that the government should resolve problems faced by local egg producers and not import eggs from India, which he said were more expensive and smaller.
On March 15, Wee accused Deepak of name-dropping the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) during a call.
Within the same day, Deepak denied Wee’s claims, including having any relations with J&E.
The PMO had also issued a stern warning to those who misuse its name for their personal agenda, warning that action would be taken.
Separately, Bersatu leader Azmin Ali had also implied Deepak was behind J&E.
A statement the company issued denying Azmin’s allegations of being awarded a direct tender, made no mention of Deepak.
News portal MalaysiaNow also reported on photos that allegedly showed Deepak on a flight to India together with Agriculture and Food Security Minister Mohamad Sabu and MIC deputy president M Saravanan.
Saravanan confirmed the photo’s authenticity but said he was on the same flight by pure coincidence and was in India for prayers. - Mkini
